This is a first look at a new project I’m working on called the Course Information System (CIS).  This system will seek to use Big Data in order to help us make better decisions going forward.  It also is the system that will serve as the foundation for our new Drupal 7 version of our future architecture (which will talk to current D6 setup as well).

This will eventually have Rules and data feeds coming in and out of the system to power the who, what, when, where, and why of all our course systems we develop.  Videos a bit long but it goes over the content types, modules, and views involved so far in making this project.

Probably of most important note: Because of patches accepted in the community this uses about 30 lines of custom code.  Everything else is in the drupal ecosystem, almost all of which are full project releases.
