Drupal, Singularity, Digital Activism, and saving our institutions
It is as important to tell a great story using technology as it is to author technology that allows more stories to be told.
This is a re-recording of a talk I gave to kick off Drupal Camp Wisconsin 2014. It wasn’t recorded and while I typically don’t rerecord presentations I do, this one is very different from any talk I’ve been asked to give previously. This is less a talk about ELMSLN proper and more a meta discussion about using Drupal as a platform for affecting social change. Digital Activism is not only something people do, it is something I feel is required if we are to ever overcome current, overwhelmingly negative societal trends.
Bigger Questions covered
- What does ELMSLN Represent?
- What is Digital Activism?
- What are current societal trends, and how can we impact them?
- How can we foster additional collaboration in the public sector?
- What makes things special?
As I said, this is a very different talk for me and I really enjoyed researching it and authoring it.
