PSUWeb Developer Lunch - 10/18

Reposted on behalf of Erin Weber by Andrew Gearhart

The next web developer lunch will take place on Tuesday, October 18th from noon until 1:00pm in room 118 Wagner Building.

Topic: PSUWeb

Facilitator: Erin Weber, Web Designer, Smeal College of Business

Description: This session will be a discussion about ways we can strengthen the web community at Penn State, including:

  *   Sharing experiences (i. e., professional development, trends, best practices, etc.) with one another, perhaps by devoting some time for that at the brown bag lunches.

  *   Development of a website or blog, and use of our yammer group

  *   Reaching out to new web professionals starting out at Penn State

  *   Fostering skills exchange:  I’ll swap you my skill in A if you can help me out with B

  *   Mentoring

  *   And more!

These ideas are not my own; rather, they come from Penn State web professionals who, over the years, have seen the value in building up some resources for ourselves to enhance the quality of our work, and make it more enjoyable.  You’ll be encouraged to share your ideas, as well!

There is no need to RSVP for this event.  Just show up at 118 Wagner Building and join the discussion at noon on October 18th.

Thanks, and hope to see you there.

Please note: This does pose a direct scheduling conflict with the October 2011 PSU-DUG meeting. As such, PSU-DUG will start the October 18, 2011 PSU-DUG in 118 Wagner to be able to draw the Drupal community more closely with the PSU Web community as a whole. At the conclusion of the PSUWeb meeting, we will head back to our normal room in 121 Borland to carry out our usual meeting.
