PSU-DUG 2011/09: Recap

Good morning everyone!

The Pennsylvania State University Drupal Users Group (PSU-DUG) met yesterday in 211 Borland.

If you missed it, you can check out the recording via Adobe Connect:https://meeting. psu.edu/p806nc7a9or/

Final Agenda

  • The Main Presentation: How to use a Feature Server and whyBryan Ollendyke @btopro
  • Lightning Talks:
    • Demo of development of a node based map- Adam Bergstein @n3rdstein
    • Demo of creating a feature for Feature Server- Adam Bergstein @n3rdstein
  • DrupalCamp Discussion:Several users have been discussing the idea that perhaps a whole year is too long to wait to get to our next DrupalCamp. We’re planning on discussing available resources and timing to begin planning the next PSU DrupalCamp.
  • The general consensus is that there is interest in having two DrupalCamps each year. One DrupalCamp would be held surrounding Learning Design Summer Camp. The second DrupalCamp would be a winter camp held in either February or March. Several different formats were raised and discussion is planned to continue via the Winter DrupalCamp 2012 discussion page on PSU WikiSpaces: https://wikispaces. psu.edu/display/dug/Winter+Drupal+Camp+2012
  • There was a discussion of the future of Drupal versions (6 v 7 v 8) with a general conclusion that most of the people involved in the discussion were using 6 and planning to stay with 6 for quite a while still.
  • Group Business: 5-10 minutes to discuss business related to group organization, our website, meeting times, other questions, activities, etc.

Thank you to all those who participated.

As I was only able to attend via Adobe Connect, thank you very much to Adam Bergstein for taking the reins and seamlessly running the September meeting.

Remember, the strength of our community comes from each and every contribution that is made. Pay it forward and tell us all about something that you did with Drupal. Post a blog entry on drupal. psu.edu and let us know about something you have overcome in or with Drupal. Want to share faster and smaller? Tweet with #drupalpsu We all want to hear about it!

Cheers,

Andrew Gearhart
