ELMS Botany: Accessibility

A lot of work has gone into accessibility in ELMS Alpha 6.  It was brought to my attention that I’ve never posted about what we’re doing to help offset accessibility concerns. These two videos show how ELMS is using Accessible Content, CKEditor (via WYSIWYG templates), HTML Purifier, and a well made style sheet to help ensure accessibility in ELMS.

Obviously we can’t gaurentee accessibility but these techniques (as seen in elms_styles) can help provide reasonable assurances of the accessibility of content as it relates to major blockers.  This won’t help with the theme / CMS layer but those are largely on the shoulders of the web developer standing up the site.  This formula is to try and help distributed content authorship from breaking the accessibility of content.
